Story-WE WILL ROCK YOU
The story in the show is indeed ridiculous, but in a fun way. It also has a few parallels to modern life, and an important underlying message about freedom of expression and creativity. It’s set in the distant future, where the Globalsoft Corporation, run by Killer Queen, controls everybody on Earth (now called the iPlanet). As a result, everybody acts in the same way, thinks the same thoughts, plays the same games, listens to the same dull manufactured pop music, etc. There’s no individuality, no creativity, no unique sense of self, and everybody has been conditioned to enjoy and embrace their mundane, repetitive existence. They have no knowledge and don’t care about what life on Earth was like in the past.
But there are rebels who wish to restore the joyous freedoms they believe the residents of their world once possessed. In particular, a new young graduate called Galileo who can hear music and lyrics from the past in his head, though he doesn’t understand why. But he can tell something is wrong with the world around him, and so doesn’t play ball. Fate then brings him together with non-conformist goth girl called Scaramouche. Together they manage to find a whole group of rebels called The Bohemians, who have been attempting to do their own research into the world’s past. So they all pursue their shared goal of defeating Killer Queen, by searching for a lost electric guitar that can reignite the world and free everybody from Globalsoft’s tyranny.
Here’s a breakdown of the main characters:
- Galileo Figaro: A “dreamer” who hears strange phrases and songs in his head, eventually revealed to be a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury.
- Scaramouche: A quick-witted misfit who joins Galileo in the fight against Globalsoft.
- Killer Queen: The ruthless and powerful dictator of Planet Mall, determined to suppress all forms of individuality and rock music.
- Khashoggi: The Killer Queen’s second-in-command and head of Globalsoft’s police, tasked with hunting down the Bohemians.
- Brit: A Bohemian who believes in the power of rock music and joins the fight for its return.
- Oz: A Bohemian, Brit’s partner, who also longs for the days of rock music.
- Buddy: A character who is part of the Bohemian resistance and helps guide Galileo and Scaramouche.
These characters, along with the other Bohemians, Ga Ga Kids, Teen Queens, and various other supporting roles, bring the story of “We Will Rock You” to life, exploring themes of freedom, individuality, and the power of music.

SINGING AUDITIONS
To be considered for a singing role you will need to sing the songs below with a backing track , you do not need to learn the song words but it will help if you are familiar with the tune and lyrics. Compared to previous shows, there are not that many singing roles- you will need to take the auditions seriously and be prepared and confident in your singing ability. The songs in this show are demanding and musically more difficult than anything we have done before.
There are some fabulous chorus songs , so if you do not secure a singing role in this one you are guaranteed to have a huge amount of fun and you will get to sing some brilliant numbers.
Depending on time you may only be asked to sing part of the song and we may stop you mid song- do not take this personally, it does not mean you are not doing well, it will be a matter of time constraints. The roles that include solo singing are as follows:

SCARAMOUCHE- Audition song -Somebody to Love
